The story is told of a young undergraduate in one of the increasingly secular European countries, named Sara. While on a field trip with a classmate, they came across a stand displaying Christian books and magazines. Her colleague asked her "Sara, are you religious?" She replied "how can I? Those things in the bible are too outrageous; I don't believe they really happened".

This story typifies the obstacle Christians face in spreading the gospel in so called civilized societies. The Bible is dismissed right out of the gate. Every attempt to quote from our beloved book is waved off with a "who cares what your bible says?" Christians therefore need to bee able to get these "free thinkers" thinking without using the Bible. Like Jesus, Philip and Paul, we need to start with the familiar and move into the unfamiliar territories of truth. That is where Christian Apologetic come in.

According to gotquestion, "Christian apologetics ... is the science of giving a defense of the Christian faith. There are many skeptics who doubt the existence of God and/or attack belief in the God of the Bible. There are many critics who attack the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible. There are many false teachers who promote false doctrines and deny the key truths of the Christian faith. The mission of Christian apologetics is to combat these movements and instead promote the Christian God and Christian truth."

The Bible instructs Christians to "... honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect" 1 Pet 3:15. Forgoing the pride of knowledge, Christians need to equip themselves with both accurate understanding of Scripture (Divine revelation) and wide understanding of science, logic and philosophy (Natural revelation), so that when the opportunity arises we are, like the Apostle Peter admonished, ready to give an answer to those who ask.

This page would provide a collection of articles posted on this site dealing with answers to various objections to Christianity and training materials to enable Christians adequately defend their faith.
