Hebrews 5:7 (KJV)
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;”

Every now and then, I come across videos on social media about one ‘man of God’ doing wonders and miracles and ‘calling those things that be not as though they are’. Sometimes, they sell purported ‘solve it all’ handkerchiefs, oil or some ornament that is the ‘deal’.
Some spend their entire lives seeking the power to raise the dead, cast out demons, speak in tongues or/and do wonders. Sometimes it is one professor of theology dishing out wrong theologies to people who are not discerning because he/she has studied at Jerusalem school for the intelligent.

However, in light of all these ‘side attractions’, what was Jesus’ goal during His ministry?
He never cried for head knowledge, He never cried and fasted to raise the dead or heal the sick or do wonders. What if I told you that these signs ‘shall follow’ those that believe? That phrase ‘shall follow’ is in the future active indicative. It means it is a ‘Fact!’ .As long as you devoutly seek the Lord and Him alone, there is nothing these ‘men of God’ do that you cannot do for God is no respecter of men.

What then was Jesus’ heart cry during His ministry on earth?
Hebrews 5:7 tells us the secret to His success. It was salvation from Spiritual death! This should be our priority! We will not be heard until we have feared the consequences of sin! We got to hate sin like we hate AIDS! Don’t indulge in selective sins. Avoid all appearance of sin! Only then will we have victory and triumph always.

I have heard of men of God who raised the dead and still fell for the sin of pride, adultery or jealousy. I have heard and seen of theologians who taught amazingly and yet still fell under the crushing power of drug addictions and pornography but I have not heard or seen any believer that humbles himself under the mighty power of the living God fall by the road side.

Get victory over the ‘power’ of sin and you will have victory in your theology and in your giftings. The Lord help us all in overcoming every appearances of sin. Amen

Shalom
